Join us for a beautiful Summer Calligraphy Live Workshop in Slovenia at the end of June – a creative escape designed for anyone who wants to slow down, learn something new, and enjoy the art of hand lettering.

The workshop takes place at Premetovc, in the beautiful Poljanska Valley, surrounded by nature and close to the Poljanska Sora that flows through the valley. The house is only a short walk from the river, and its proximity brings fresh air and a pleasantly cool atmosphere, even during the warm summer months.

Whether you are a complete beginner, advanced or someone who only loves lettering, this workshop will guide you step-by-step through our journey exploring calligraphy...

During the course, you will explore different calligraphy scripts but each participant will choose only one script to focus on throughout the workshop. The selection includes Gothic scripts — Textura, Rotunda, Bastarda, and Fraktur — as well as Italic, Carolingian, and Copperplate.

The workshop is not only about learning calligraphy, but also about consciously disconnecting from technology. Through working with the hand, tools, and letterforms, you will develop concentration, a sense of rhythm, and a deeper creative connection with yourself.

All scripts can be incorporated into art, history, or language classes, encouraging creativity, patience, and fine motor skills in students.

It is also suitable for designers, florists, pastry chefs, and anyone who wishes to develop their personal expression through lettering. The script can be used in a wide range of creative projects — from posters and greeting cards to personal or educational work.

Open Atelier

ONLY 12 spots/day

Between the two organized workshops, the Open Atelier offers four days of shared studio time for participants to practice the script, explore ideas, and enjoy creating together in a relaxed environment.

This is an open, informal space where you can continue working on your Bastarda practice, experiment with your own projects, exchange ideas, and connect with fellow calligraphers. Feel free to bring your tools, materials, and any personal work you would like to develop during these days.

I will join the atelier one afternoon, while on another day Igor Kužnik, bookbinder, will offer a short workshop on making a miniature book.

Participants are also welcome to contribute to the atmosphere of the atelier. You are invited to:

✍️projects, events, or ideas
☕show your artwork to the group

Color & Design


This workshop focuses on how to transform calligraphy practice into finished artworks. We will explore ways to arrange text on the page, work with color, and develop design ideas that bring a piece together.

Through demonstrations and guided exercises, we will look at balance, spacing, visual rhythm, and how color can support the written form. The principles discussed can be applied to any script or style, making the workshop suitable for a wide range of calligraphic approaches.

Whether you are just beginning or already experienced, the goal is to help you gain confidence in creating your own compositions and developing personal calligraphic pieces.

All levels are welcome.
